His place of birth is shown as Bennington, Wyoming, New York in his obituary, but Find a Grave [1] lists Strykersville, Wyoming, New York. Frank was the 4th of 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls, Eva (1868), Laura (1870), Harry (1872), Frank (1874), Anna (1877), Grace (1879), Ella (1881), Warren (1884), Claude (1886), George (1889), Benjamin (1892) and Agnes (1895).
  • The 1880 United States Federal Census [2] [3] [4] [5] shows Frank's family living in Bennington, Wyoming, New York. The family consists of Eugene and Mary and children Eva, Harry, Frank, Ann and Grace and they are living with Eugene's adoptive parents Eber and (Almena) Lozetta Rice. Eber is a millwright and Eugene is a farmer.
  • Frank's father, Philander Eugene Dayton Rice died on November 5th 1896 of typhoid pneumonia [6].
  • Frank was married to Bertha E. Day by the Reverend Charles Vahlsing on June 20th 1899 in Bennington, Wyoming, New York. The couple had no children and Bertha died at just 27 years of age on March 13th 1902 in Bennington [7].

  • Frank William Rice passed away at only 47 years of age at the home of his brother, Harry Rice of Main street, Attica, Wyoming, New York of pleuro-pneumonia on April 20th 1922 [25] [26] [27].
