Jeptha Rice was born about 1763 in Albemarle, Colony of Virginia, son of Hezekiah Rice (~1732–<1796) and Mary Bullock (~1738–<1795).

His siblings were:

Jeptha (20) married Nancy Jouett (21) (born about 1762 in Caswell, North Carolina; daughter of John Jouett Sr. and Mourning Glenn (Harris) Jouett) on August 19, 1784 in Caswell, North Carolina.[1][2]

Their children were:

Jeptha died on January 7, 1817 in Gallatin, Sumner, Tennessee, United States, aged about 53. [3]
