Research Notes

  • His military records list a dob of 21 Dec 1885 however his birth registration was in the first quarter of 1885. His birth year must have been 1884.
  • His obituary mentions a sister who was still alive and living in England named Mrs. G. M. Newman who could be added to his family here
  • Frank and Ivy must have been separated at the time of his death as his death record was completed by a public trustee who knew nothing of his origin, spouse, marital status, etc. (http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Image/Genealogy/ad7eb4e8-3220-47de-a360-d23f7a8b7268)
  • To confirm he was indeed the husband of Ivy, see the trustee information (Mrs. I.T. Rice) for his estate, listing the same address as the address listed on his death certificate (https://www.newspapers.com/clip/86645152/frank-rice-estate/)
  • Recommend merging profile of Frank Rice and Frank Royce, as there appears to have only been the one person and that Ivy used the spelling Royce later in life ( Nass-24 03 Oct 2021).

Royce-343 and Rice-18835 appear to represent the same person because: Ivy appears to have only married one time, to Frank Rice, not Frank Royce (see research notes section in the profile of Royce-343)

Yes thanks

was trying to figure where "Royce" came from as the records did not show anything about this name aside from her tombstone.
