Capt. Randall Rice made a deed of gift to Fones Rice, mariner, of 20 acres of Wequachatoconet" land 12 Jan. 1765. Fones and Susanna joined the family migration between Sept. 1774 when a child was born in Warwick and Sept. 1776 when the next one was born in Clarendon, Vermont. He served a week in Nov. 1778 in Col. Gideon Warren's Regiment of Militia. Many real estate transactions in Clarendon, Vermont began 6 Sept. 1779, ended with a flurry of sales in 1783--and arrests for debt in the first half of 1784. The debts were paid by seizure of his lands. Fones and Susannah had thirteen children, the first seven born in Warwick or East Greenwich, the last six born in Clarendon Vermont.
