Biography

Henry Rice was born 15 January 1786, in Marlborough, Massachusetts. He was the son of Noah Rice and Hannah Palfrey.[1]

On 26 February 1816, Henry married Maria (Burroughs) Rice (1789-) in Boston, Massachusetts.[2]

Henry Rice was an American Army officer in the War of 1812, a leading Boston merchant, a member of the Boston City Council and a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.

Henry died at age 81 on 15 October 1867, in Malden, Massachusetts.[3]

Rice's grandson Charles Austin Coolidge was a U.S. Army Brigadier General.
