Biography
Wīhą́gā was born in 1892.
While in her minority, she is always called Wīhą́gā; but in the 1911 Indian census, she appears as the daughter of James Ricehill, b. 1892, but with the name "Blanche Blackbird." This shows that she was given an Anglo name at, and probably for the purpose of, marriage.
