Rachel (Rich) Clifford has English ancestors.

Rachel Rich, daughter of Ebenezer Rich and Ruth Purin(g)ton Paine, was born on 24 September 1768 in Truro, Barnstable county, Massachusetts Bay Province. [1]

Rachel Rich is a 3rd Cousin once removed to her mother-in-law Abigail Winslow. [2]

Rachel was wed to Edward Clifford (b. 1766) on 23 December 1791 in Greenwich, Fairfield county, Connecticut, or on 29 December 1791, or 29 February 1792, in Greenwich, Hampshire, Massachusetts. [3] They had at least four children:

  1. Martha (Clifford) Lathrop, 1792–1837;
  2. George A. Clifford, 1793–1813;
  3. Amelia Clifford, 1801–1855;
  4. Caleb Clifford, 1803–1866;
  5. Nathan D. Clifford, 1806–1887;
  6. Mary A. (Clifford) Wheaton, 1810–1878.

In 1850 Rachael Clifford is recorded living in the household of her husband Edward in Pittsford, Rutland county, Massachusetts. [4]

Rachel Rich Clifford died on 5 April 1853 in Pittsford, Rutland county, Vermont. [5]
