Amand Richard was born on 7 Feb 1838 in Shediac, New Brunswick, and baptized two days later in Barachois, the son of Paul Richard and Marguerite Poirier.[1][2]
Amand married Julie Poirier, daughter of Pascal Poirier and Justine Gallant, on 13 May 1861 in Grande-Digue.[3][4] A dispensation was granted for 3 degrees of consanguinity (they were second cousins, view relationship).
