Hypolite Richard is a descendant of an Acadian

Hypolite Richard was born in 1847 and baptized in Grand Coteau, Louisiana. He was a son of Pierre Richard and Emerente Leger.[1]

He married Celeste Leger in 1869. [2]

Their known children were:

  1. Ernest Richard (1872)[3]
  2. Arnault Richard (1874-1949)
  3. Arthemon Richard (c.1894-)
  4. Blanche Richard (1896-1969)

He was counted on the United States Census in 1910 in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. He and his wife could speak English, farmed, had been married 40 years, and had six living children.[4]

He died in 1913 and was buried in the Old Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Church Point, Louisiana.[5]
