Biography

"Marguerite Dely Richard" was baptized on 15 August 1779 at St. James Parish, Louisiana, New Spain. Her parents were Jean Marie Richard and Rosalie Bourgois.[1]

She married Simon Breau on 27 May 1794 at St. James.[2] Marguerite and Simon had seven known children:

  1. Jerome Lefroy Breau, b. 22 Jun 1796[3]
  2. Estevan Breau, b. 3 Aug 1798[4]
  3. Simon Damaseno Breau, b. 8 Oct 1800,[5] d. about 16 Oct 1800[6]
  4. Pedro Onessino Breau, b. 6 Apr 1802[7]
  5. Eugene Breau, b. 16 Jun 1804[8]
  6. Victorin Etienne Breau, b. 25 Aug 1806,[9] d. about 30 Nov 1809[10]
  7. Henry Simon Breau, b. 9 Mar 1809[11]

She was widowed in 1809.[12]

Marguerite married Alexandre Breau on 28 November 1811 at Ascension Parish.[13] Marguerite and Alexandre had three known children:

  1. Marie Antoinette Breau, b. 21 Aug 1812[14]
  2. Marie Antoinette Breau, b. 18 Jul 1815[15]
  3. Alexandre Victorin Breau, b. 21 Jan 1818[16]

Marguerite died by 7 April 1819, when she was buried at Ascension Parish.[17]
