Elise Emma Richard married on 30 Dec 1919 at Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland to a man calling himself Edmund Alexander Champion de Crespigny. [1] He later went by the name Claude Champion de Crespigny.
At the time of the 1930 US census Claude, Lillette and Michelle were living at 1546 Farwell Avenue, Chicago. Claude was a typewriter salesman.[2]
On her naturalisation application of 1944 she stated they had divorced in 1940. [3] However, Claude had remarried in 1935 in New York.[4]
In 1940 Claude and Lilette’s daughter Michelle was at school at Morgan Park High School, Chicago.[5] I have not been able to locate any member of the family on the United States 1940 census.
