Biography

Mary was born in Delaware in 1793. She married William Hughlett in Caroline County, Maryland, on her 20th birthday in 1813.^[1]

Mary and William lived in Caroline County in 1820.^[2]

In 1830 and 1840 they lived in Talbot County, Maryland.^[3][4]

William died in 1845.^[5]

In 1850 Mary was widowed and living in Easton, Talbot, Maryland, with her three daughters, Mary, Sarah, and Martha.^[6] She owned five slaves.^[7]

In 1860 Mary lived in Easton with two of her daughters, Tamsey and Martha.^[8] She owned fourteen slaves.^[9]

She passed away in 1863 and was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Easton.^[10]
