Biography

1821 Birth
Mary Richards, daughter of Abijah Richards Jr. and Sarah H. "Sally" James, was born 6 June 1821 in Elkrun Township, Columbiana County, Ohio.[1][2][3]

Mary's parents married in Columbiana County, Ohio on 10 March 1816. They were on the 1820,[4] 1840,[5] and 1850[6] census in Elkrun Township, Columbiana, Ohio where at least 11 of their 13 children were born. Abijah and Sarah later moved to Fairfield Township before he wrote his will in 1855. [1]

Abijah Richards wrote his will 1 November 1855; executors were David Richards and Sam'l Hollingsworth. His wife Sarah was primary beneficiary and his 11 living children were named in the will, however, Mary received only $5 while the others received $100 to $125 each.[1]
