Hi Cary,

Since you manage a number of Prentiss profiles I invite you to check-out the new One Name Study for the Prentice/Prentiss surname. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Prentice_Name_Study

Hi Cary,

I'm part of a team working on catching minor errors and correcting them. I came across your ancestor Fletcher Bartley, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bartley-782. There's a note that there's a conflict between the birth dates listed on his FindAGrave profile and on his WikiTree profile. Do you have any evidence that you could add? Annotation from a family Bible or other records that you could add to clarify?

Thank you so much,

Claire

Hello Cary,

My name is Lynda Farley and Murdeu Beverly was my maternal grandfather. He married Hattie Roe Jackson. I am trying to research both family lines and have gotten some correct info, but a lot more incorrect. I was just wondering if you have any confirmed information or stories on these surnames. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks Lynda (lynfarley@outlook.com}

Cary, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}

Thanks,

Karen

Hi Cary, i will try to fix email issue. Although u may try going to my direct profile, but I might have done something wrong as I'm new to wiki tree. So I'll check into it.

On the step vs full blood issue, I've noticed that on the names you listed Susannah as Susan Stevenson, from what I know so far you can edit her name on all the children and her husbands profile and this should update all to blood siblings. When I started researching over 10 years ago, everything said Her name was Susannah (Stephenson) Lusk probably when u update u will then be able to connect her with her 2nd husband Thomas Godfrey and their son.

We are probably related somewhere back in Germany. We had a Josephine Henkel born 1880 and died 1882. Pretty sad. Have fun researching.

Hi Cary,

Thank you for making contributions to WikiTree. I noticed that you have been adding and/or editing people who were living before 1700. Here is a link to some WikiTree information about editing those ancestors. It is very important to cite quality sources when you add/update the information. You may also want to go back and review the source information that you read when getting certified for pre-1700 profiles: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pre-1700_Profiles#When_Creating_Profiles Sources in general: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources Thanks! Hi Cary, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! This certification requires participation in a project related to the profiles you wish to edit. Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Also, check out our Volunteer Hub to see our projects that really need new members!

Let me know! I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders. Welcome aboard!
