Grand Forks Herald (ND) - August 25, 1989 Deceased Name: MINA DURBIN Mina I. Durbin, 86, Cando, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1989, in Towner County Hospital, Cando. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church, Cando. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today in Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home, Cando, and one hour before services Saturday in the church. Mina Richardson was born Dec. 11, 1902, in Armourdale Township of Towner County, N.D., the daughter of William and Alice Richardson. She attended schools at Hansboro, N.D., and later attended Valley City State Teacher College. She married George A. Durbin Dec. 26, 1925, in Cando. They lived in Armourdale and Sidney townships of Towner County before moving in the early 1940s to Cando. She taught in Pierce, Rolette and Towner counties until retiring in 1956; George Durbin died March 16, 1986. Survivors are her sons, Lloyd, Milton; Wash.; George, Devils Lake, William Daniel, Milbank, S.D., John, Alameda, Sask, Robert, Crookston; daughter, Evelyn Copenbarger, Wasilla, Alaska; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Boppre, Cando, and Laura Steffan, Hansboro, N.D. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; brothers, Gerald and Arthur; and sister, May Peterson. Edition: FINAL Page: 5A
