Ernest Richardson was born in 1897 at East Luther, Dufferin, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Andrew Richardson and Annie Hall.[1]
In the 1901 Canada census, Ernest was age 4 living at Luther East, Wellington North, Ontario, Canada with his father Andrew (58), mother Annie (47), brothers Albert (27), Walter (22), Edwin (19), Clifford (12), Gordon M (8), sisters Margaret (24), Jennie (16), Alice (10), also uncle William Hall (44).[2]
In the 1911 Canada census, Ernest was age 14 living at Luther East, Dufferin, Ontario, Canada with his father Andrew (68), mother Annie (57), brothers Edwin (29), Clifford (22), Gordon (10?), sisters Jean (25), Alice (21).[3]
About 1915 Ernest sustained severe injuries after being hit by a train when returning home along railway tracks. Fortunately he was discovered while trying to make his way to the nearby Taylor farm and was taken to the farm where he was nursed back to health. In the process the Richardson and Taylor families became close. Ernest's brother Gordon married one of the Taylor daughters. The full story was published in the Orangeville Banner in 2012.[4]
Ernest Richardson lived in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada to the age of 100.[4]
