Frederick Charles Richardson arrived in New Zealand colony in 1873 from London. He was 4th son of Charles Richardson of Cary Castle Torquay Devon and Warwick House Earls Court London,
His father Charles Richardson (1817- 1980) was a prominent Cement Merchant and brick maker based at Nine Elms / Vauxhall London based. As one of the younger son. Frederick aged 21, left England to prove himself in the world. Initially settling in Christchurch
Frederick Charles Richardson MARRIED Catherine Mary Guinness ( Minnie) in 1878 , a daughter of NZ magistrate Francis Vicemus Hart Guinness ,the grandson of Arthur Guinness( Irish Brewer) . Then moved to Auckland. Arriving in Auckland 26th November 1879 on Vessel "Fernglen”. Presented to the NZ Governor General Sir George Grey April 14th 1886

The Richardson had several Auckland based properties including residences Grafton Road, this being their Town House and Country House which the fondly called “Vinebank” AUCKLAND New Zealand "Freehold" Settler Lot 162 Section 16 Vinebank was where the family grew up, having their yachts moored near their boat house at Orakei Basin, this was prior to the installation of Auckland's railway via the waterfront. The family were active members in the Royal Akorana Yacht Club.
A stockbroker clerk as a youth. His father Charles set him up in business in Auckland, where it is understood he was an agent for his father’s brick and Portland cement products.
