Hello Mary,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in. The Project operates in a team structure with these participant PIP Teams -- The Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and three Biography Teams. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team, working on profiles from your watchlist and other profiles that interest you. The other two Biography Teams work on Abandoned and Popular profiles from the provided lists. Please let us know if you are content with your current Team or would like to change to one of the others.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup. We use the WikiTree Discord server #profile-improvement channel for our project. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

HI Mary, I just read a short biography of your kinsman, Rupert Richardson in my History of Stephens County book and it was inspiring to me. Did you know he grew up in my county? He and his family lived not far from my grandparents. There are a number of Richardsons who were there. Don’t know how many now. Lula

Hi again Mary, question. regarding the =military= on profiles. and I know this old brain of mine remembers when I first joined the war and military project the military stickers and service I believe, we were putting them on top under the = Bio = and then I guess they decided to stop doing that and just leave the stickers up there and all the info in the timeline date. I was looking for an example and went to Pres Eisenhower and he is not a good example. Anyway, if you could take a look at the Gayman Ogbourn-5 that I just redid because I was informed it was confusing the way it was. And then the big one??? Should I go back and redo all of the profiles 1,000+ 1,000 and drop them down in the timeline? If that is so then guess if I keep my eye on the ball I might be done in a couple of years. Thank you

Hi Mary, Kevin here. I have a question re: connecting an Unk Smith-197683 to Smith-75265. 1st Pre 1700 2nd ties to Am Rev Project. She is the wife of a Richard Caswell. Also listed as mother of Richard Caswell III. as she is not identified as sister to Wm Smith-75265 profile, I lose the family connection to the Caswell Line. Being unknown (first) name there is limited information. Relationships are established w all parties mentioned. ??-should she be connected to Wm Smith as sister? Also, somewhere in my reading I believe I read something about a William Smith being the first Gen of Fort McHenry. Your thoughts are appreciated. Happy New Year

William Smith https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-75265 looks to be the uncle of Richard Caswell III https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Caswell-564

Also wonder why his father didn't raise him, but father did die when https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Caswell-564 was 10 years old..

It took me a while to figure it out.

If you can figure out how to show Richard Caswell https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Caswell-564 as nephew to William Smith, that would be helpful.

I was very active before and have contributed quite a bit, I would say, to the profiles of the project and was awarded a badge for those contributions a few months ago. So is there a direct link to the 1776 project I can't seem to find it? Everything has changed and it's just difficult to navigate now. It used to be so easy to find what you needed. Super confusing. I think I was looking for stickers last time. Has that changed too? Thank you. Eileen

Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

I have a question about project 1776, of which I am new to.

I have gone through the more than 14 of my ancestors who are very likely revolutionary veterans (no tories found). Only 2 of those have 1776 icons in their wiki profiles, so I have some work to do.

However, neither of those 2 with icons have 1776-project listed among the profile managers. Is this correct? I was going to use those as examples, but now I'm not sure.

What is the relationship between the 1776-project (and its profile format) and having a 1776 icon on the profile?

I am still struggling with instructions for Project 1776. There is an explicit statement on the 1776 page that the subject profile needs to have Project-1776 as a profile manager. However, when I reviewed again all profile example on the 1776 page, none had project-1776 as a profile manager. Please explain what appears to be a contradiction.

I am posting this because I have received no response in trying to join the google group for 1776 communication.
