Margaret is listed as a child of Elizabeth Cowan Richey in this report because of the dates that were listed on her headstone, however, I have some doubt that these dates were correct. When Col. Isaac Cowan, Elizabeth's father, wrote his will he listed as beneficiaries his two Richey grandchildren and we know that one of these was his granddaughter, Elizabeth Dorilla "Rilla" Richey, and the other was is namesake, Isaac Cowan Richey. If the headstone dates are correct Margaret would have been living at the time of Col. Cowan's death in 1831 and would surely have been listed if she was indeed his granddaughter. Margaret's grave is next to her father's in the Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church Cemetery - Abbeville, SC.
