Biography

Cyrus was born circa 1690 to John Richmond and Elizabeth in Westerly, Rhode Island.

Note: There do not appear to be any primary records for his mother Elizabeth’s surname. In the secondary literature, Elizabeth’s surname is not given by Joshua Bailey Richmond (1897) while Nellie Ward Johnson (1937) identifies her as Elizabeth Davis. Some current researchers identify her as Elizabeth Irish but never offer any documentary evidence. Therefore, the connections to Elizabeth Davis and Elizabeth Irish have been broken until someone provides documentary proof.

In 1718, Cyrus married Jane Crandall. They had at least six children.

In 1734, Cyrus married Phebe Mott. They had at least seven children.

In 1740, they were living in Stonington, Connecticut, when when Cyrus' father passed away.

Richmond-557 and Richmond-126 appear to represent the same person because: Name and parents match. Clear duplicate.

The mother in the profile Cyrus Richmond was owing to an import error. I have rectified that profile and am re-proposing the merge of 557 into this profile, 126.

Richmond-557 and Richmond-126 appear to represent the same person because: same first name, last name, father, spouse, and daughter.

Richmond-632 and Richmond-126 appear to represent the same person because: The only identifying information on Richmond-126 is wife Jane Crandall, daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Celley) Crandall. According to the book by Joshua Baily Richmond on the Richmond Family, Cyrus married first Jane Crandall of Samuel and Sarah (Celley) and married second Phebe Mott. So according to that book, these two Cyruses are the same man.
