Biography

I was born at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Indiana, on the 13th of February in 1978. I was raised in Osgood, Indiana. My parents are David Richter and Susan Ramsey (nee Sparks). I have two older brothers. I've always been interested in our family history and local history in general. I along with other family members are researching our roots to put it all down somewhere for future generations. My mother's side houses many surnames (Sparks, Rice, Brinegar, Winkle/r) as does my father's (Richter, Konkle/Kunkle, Struckman/n, Lingo, Coffee). I am here to put pieces of the puzzle together and help others along the way!

My mother is a Sparks. Her dad was Shelby Rexford Sparks and his dad was Charlie Banford Sparks and his mother Cleopatra Kidd Sparks. Charlie's dad was Jeptha Sparks of Powell County, Kentucky. I am interested in the Sparks family especially the Revolutionary War soldier James Sparks born 1762 in Frederick, Maryland.
