Biography

John is the son of Henry (1735-1780) and Magdalena (Lionberger) Rickabaugh (b. 1733 in Page Township, VA). He married Elizabeth Griffith (1764-1834) on 15 Feb 1784 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. They were the parents of five children:

  • Henry, b.1786; d. 1869
  • Adam, b. 1790; d. 1865
  • John, b. 1792; d. 1840,
  • Sarah "Sally", b. 1793
  • Rachel, b. 1797; d. 1867

John served in the War of 1812 in the 2nd Regiment (Safford's) Ohio Militia. [1]
