Thomas was born about 1753 at Whitchurch, and died at Grandborough about 1832. He was the son of Joseph Rickard and Ann (Coleman) Rickard, who were married at Whitchurch on 27 Dec 1744. Thomas was christened at Whitchurch on 3 Mar 1754, 'son of Joseph and Ann Rickard'.
Thomas's wife was named Mary. They were married at Padbury on 9 Jan 1782. The only problem is in the spelling of Mary's birth surname, thus: 'Thomas Rickard of Whitchurch Mary Row of this parish', although other (unsourced) documents indicate the alternative spelling, Roe.
Their two eldest children, Sarah and Thomas, were born and baptised at Whitchurch, but their other seven children were baptised in the Grandborough parish church, St John the Baptist, between 1786 and 1803. This indicates that the young family moved to Grandborough some time between 1784 and 1786.
When Thomas died, he was buried at Grandborough on 4 Nov 1832, aged 79 years.
Unsource profiles on WikiTree trace his ancestry back to about 1580. That is not denied; it simply has not been proved, as yet.
