Residence: Acton, Maine Charles appears to live in the same home his entire life based on the other families listed on all census pages from 1850 - 1920.
In 1870, Charles is working as a farmer laborer, possibly for his father with whom he and his sister Mary are still living. Future wife Hannah, living with her father, has moved into the the neighborhood.
Marriage: Charles H Ricker married Hannah F. Cloutman 27 Apr 1877 recorded in Acton, York, Maine. Solemized by Rev. William Thompson. Intentions were published on 24 Apr 1877 in Acton where they were both residing. [13][14][15]
Children: The 1910 Census indicates they have had 3 children; by that time Hannah is 55-years-old,
1880, Charles, Hannah, and their son Walter are living in the home of his parents Ebenezer and Louisa Ricker. [10]
By 1900, Charles father had passed, and Charles is listed as head of household. He owns real estate without debt. His widowed mother, Louisa, continues to live in the home as well as sons Walter and Frank. Both sons are working as farm laborers, possibly on the family farm. [4]
1910, None of their children have married and all are living with Charles and Hannah. Son Walter is working for another farmer. Son Frank is a teamster in the logging industry, and Harriet is working as a waitress. A 12-year-old girl, Hester Crawford, from New Brunswick has joined the family, enumerated as a boarder. [11]
The 1920 Census indicates Charles and Hannah are living on French Street. At 73-year-old Charles no longer lists an occupataion. Son Frank continues to live with them and work in a logging camp. (Frank's name was recorded out of order. See notes where he appears on the last page of the census.) [12][16]
Death and Burial: Charles H Ricker died in 1828 in Acton, Maine per Find a Grave. He is buried in the Acton Corner Cemetery along with his wife, his sons Walter and Frank, and his parents. [17]
