She married second Nathaniel Howland, son of John and Mary Howland of Dartmouth, on 18d 8m 1746 [18 Oct 1746] and moved to Quaker Hill, Dutchess County, New York.[4] They had 8 children with William being the 9th.
She died about 1768 in Quaker Hill, Duchess County, New York. Nathaniel remarried after Joanna's death and had 2 more children.
