He was born on 21 Jul 1895 in Ochonee, Arkansas, USA and his parents were Maude Gertrude (Wells) and Andrew Franklin Rickman.

During World War I he served as a messenger and rode a bicycle or drove a wagon in France delivering messages to high ranking officers and others. On the ship home, the Atlantic Ocean was an icy nightmare. He had to slide on his belly from place to place on the ice while trying not to slide off the deck into the ocean. The crew had to eat boiled potatos and cans of mackerel for the weeks it took to get home. Most of the crew had sea-sickness the entire journey home. He told grandma Ola he didn't ever want to eat boiled potatoes or mackerel again in his lifetime.
From 1924 to 1946 he resided in Craighead County. Arkansas, USA.
He was a farmer and rancher.
He passed away on 06 Sep 1984 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, USA and was buried at Rickman Family Cemetery in Dalton, Arkansas, USA.
Daly Rickman, aged 89, of Dalton died Thursday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital [Walnut Ridge, Lawrence County, AR].
Born in Dalton on July 21, 1895, he was the son of A. F. and Maude (Wells) Rickman.
He was married on Sept. 2, 1919, to the former Ola Fry, who preceded him in death August 15, 1983.
He was a veteran of World War I, a farmer and rancher and member of the American Legion Baker-Sullinger Post in Ravenden Springs. He was a member of the Mcllroy Church of Christ, and from 1924 to 1946 was a resident of Craighead County where he worked as a farmer and ginner. He served on the school boards of Bay and Pleasant Valley and was former president of the PTA at Bay.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Horsman of Florence, AL; a son. James Rickman of Dalton; a brother, Leo Rickman of Imboden; a sister, Mrs. Johnnie Cochran of Bay; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral was Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Mcllroy Church of Christ with Neil Inness and Grant Killion officiating.
Burial was in the Rickman Family Cemetery in Dalton by Higginbotham Funeral Service. Pallbearers were John Chester, James Roy Chester, Don Wilson, Preston Brown, Dennis Brown, and Benny Inness. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Mitchell Jr. and Jim Andrews.
