Delila (Rickman) Goins is a part of US Black heritage.

Delilah Rickman was likely living in Highland Co, OH when she married there in 1848 to John Goins. Liberty, Highland Co OH was settled by Free-Colored people. The Rickman family is well known to have started in Virginia, then coming to Highland Co OH early. This is probably where Deliah was born and raised. She named 2 sons as Peter and Jasper, which are "Rickman Family" names. She is likely the daughter of Peter Rickman of Libert, Highland Co, OH and her brother may be Jasper Rickman.

In the 1850 census at Liberty, Highland, OH you find the widowed Peter Rickman and he is head of household, and living with him is Thornton Goens, who perhaps is his daughter's husband.
