Biography

William was born in 1812.^[1]

In 1839 he married Anne Burman.^[2] The certificate states he was a bachelor of full age living in Brixham, Devon as a mariner. His father was William Ridgeway, miner, and the witnesses were Sarah Burman and John Arthur.^[3]

Between 1853 and 1854 he was a Merchant Seaman registered at Brixham, Devon.^[4]

In 1861 he lived at East Street, Wolborough, Newton Abbott, Devon as a labourer.^[5] Between 1871 and 1881 he lived at 15 South Devon Cottages, Wolborough, Newton Abbott, Devon as a railway labourer with Great Western Railway engine works.^[6][7]

He passed away in 1891.^[8]
