Biography

Sarah was the daughter of Richard Ridgway and his second wife, Abigail Stockton.

Research Notes

Richard Ridgway and his first wife also had a daughter named Sarah, who died in infancy. According to one source,^[1] this second daughter named Sarah also died in infancy. However, another source^[2] notes that she was mentioned in her mother's will, signed in 1726 when Sarah would have been an adult. In fact, Sarah is mentioned in the wills of both her mother and her father,^[3] showing that she was still living as of 8 Mar 1726.

There is record of a 1730 marriage between a Sarah Ridgway and one James Moore, both of Burlington County, New Jersey,^[4] but the record contains no further detail that would allow a confirmation as to whether this was the same person. To the contrary, one source^[2] states that Sarah died unmarried.
