Pierre Riel est né le 14 octobre 1727, baptisé le 17 à Saint-Sulpice, fils de Jean Baptiste Riel dit L'irlande et de Louise Cottu[1]
Le 15 février 1762 à La Prairie (La-Nativité-de-la-Sainte-Vierge), Pierre Riel, fils de feu Jean Baptiste Riel et de défunte Louise Coutu, épouse Marie Catherine Guérin, fille de Jean Baptiste Guérin et de Marie Catherine Bourdeau[2]
11 enfants connus du mariage, dont 2 décédés en bas âge et 8 mariés. Le dernier enfant est posthume à son père.[3]
Pierre Riel décède dans la nuit du 1er au 2 décembre 1782 et est inhumé le 3 à Saint-Philippe (St-Jean-François-Régis), l'acte lui donne 56 ans.[4]
