Octavie was born at the Red River Colony about 1852.[1] She was the daughter of Louis Riel and Julie Lagimodiere.

Octavie married Louis Lavallee in Saint-Boniface on 2 February 1875.[2]

She may have died in Saint-Boniface on 29 November 1890. There is a death record for an Octavie Riel (but that's her maiden name, and Manitoba death records normally use the married name) who was the right age.[3] However, in other online trees a death in Quebec in December 1890 is cited. (To do: look up death record in Drouin Collection.)
