Obituary RIES - THE DEATH OF GEORGE W. Ries, age 73 years of 2623 Melrose Avenue, occurred suddenly in a local hospital on April 25, 1965. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. (Saskatoon time) from Grace United Church, conducted by Rev. G Beverley Johnston. The Saskatoon Funeral Home is In charge of arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Katherine; two sons. Arthur, Edmonton and Morley, Soringwater, Sask.; two daughters, Mrs. M. McCaig (Elsie), Edmonton and Mrs. Fred Coates (Joyce), Saskatoon; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Mis. Albert Geisel, Elmira, Ont.; five brothers, Louie, Dawson Creek, Henry, Chilliwack, B.C., William, Elmira. Ont., Charles, Vancouver, Jack. Detroit. Mich, the late Mr. Ries was born at Elmira, Ont , and 51 years ago came west to farm at Springwater, Sask. Coming to make his home in Saskatoon 10 years ago. He was employed with the Canadian Agriculture Research Station at the University for four years prior to his retirement in 1959. Mr. Ries was always active in community affairs and had served as councillor for the Bushfield and Biggar Municipalities for many years. Active in church work, Mr. Ries had served as a steward and elder at Springwater United Church. He was an elder at Grace Church in Saskatoon. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. 4-28-c
