Maria May Louise Rigby (married name Little) was born on 7 December 1893 in Beaconsfield, Tasmania, Australia, daughter of Mary Ann Martha (Birch) Rigby and Isaac William Rigby.[citation needed]
She married Albert Victor James Little in 1916 in Victoria.[1] Their children were:
Maria died on 24 February 1951 in Horsham, Victoria, aged 57 years.[2][3]
Mae and her sister-in-law Florence were traveling to Adelaide when their bus was run-over by a goods train at a level crossing. Twenty-two people were on board the bus; eleven died, eleven were seriously injured. Florence survived the crash, Mae was instantly killed having been struck by the steam locomotive.
