Thomas Rigby was born in about 1800 in Parr, Lancashire.

Thomas married Betty Twist on 3 Jun 1822 at St Mary The Virgin Church in Prescot, Lancashire. Both were of the local parish, and neither had been married before. Thomas was a labourer. The witnesses were Edmund Knowles and Mary Andrews.

Their son John Rigby was born in 1842 in Parr, Lancashire.

Thomas probably died in 1857 in St Helens, with his age given as 59 - he definitely died before the 1861 census, and this is the best age-match.
