Biography

Lucy Rigby was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Matilda Lucy Rigby was born 1857, her birth registered that year in St. KIlda, Victoria, the daughter of William Henry Rigby and Frances Giles. [1][2]

Lucy Matilda Rigby died in 1886, aged 28 years. Her death was registered at Caulfield, Victoria. [3]

RIGBY.—On the 23rd inst., at her mother's residence, Elsternwick, suddenly, Lucy Rigby, aged 28 years. [4]

Burial. Following a service held 24th July 1886, her remains were interred in the Roman Catholic portion (Compartment C, Grave 557) at the St Kilda cemetery. There, in 1922, she was joined by her mother, followed in 1951 by Lucy's sister Caroline. [5]

While their monumental grave has a headstone, only Caroline's name is on it, with space left for other names to be added. [6][7]
