Richard Rigby was born in Acton Grange, Cheshire, England.

Richard Rigby was born in 1866 ^[1] in Acton Grange, Cheshire, England, the son of Charles Rigby and Mary Taylor. ^[2]

In 1871 he was with his parents and brother in Acton Grange. His father was a farmer. ^[2]

He married Harriet Spencer on 27 January 1889 in Hulme, Lancashire. ^{[3] [4]}

In 1901 he was in Urmston, Lancashire with his wife and 5 children. He was a railway porter. ^[5]
