Richard Rigby was born in 1838 in St Helens. He was the son of Robert Rigby and Ellen (Beesley) Rigby. He was christened on September 23rd 1838 at St Mary's Church, now known as St Helens Church. The family's address was given as Windle, and the father's occupation as shoemaker.
By June 6th 1841, Robert and Ellen were living in College Lane, Windle. Robert's occupation was recorded as cordwainer (someone who makes fine shoes). They had three children - Margaret (5), Richard (2), and baby William.
Richard died in February 1843, aged four. He was buried on February 16th in the churchyard of St Mary's (now St Helens). His family's address was given as St Helens.
Mother's maiden name transcribed as Bushy in the birth registration index. From what transcribing I've done, Bushy could be a plausible misreading of a handwritten Beesley, so I think this is the correct birth registration.
