Biography

Jeremiah was baptised on 26 November 1814 in All Saints Ch, Wigan, Lancs, England. He was the son of John Rigby and Jane Parr.^[1]

When Jeremiah was 24 he married Mary Hardman on 13 January 1839 in All Saints Ch, Wigan, Lancs, England.^[2]

The Baptism Records show that on 26 Nov 1814 at All Saints, Wigan, Geremiah [sic] Rigby was baptised as the 3rd Son of John Rigby & Jane and that he was born on 4 Oct 1814 at Hindley. His father's occupation was Weaver. (Film 1885676).

The Marriage Record shows that Jeremiah Rigby (X), a 23 yo Mule Spinner and Bachelor of Hindley married Mary Hardman (X), a 25 yo Spinster of Hindley. The Groom's Father, John Rigby was a Labourer and the Bride's Father, William Hardman was also a Labourer. The Witnesses were James Banks and Thomas Hardman. (Film 1885693)

John Rigby married Jane Parr on 25 December 1810 in All Saints Ch, Wigan, Lan, Eng. The couple had 11 children: John Rigby, James Rigby, Jeremiah Rigby, Hannah Rigby, Mary Ann Rigby, Samuel Rigby, Elizabeth Rigby, Hannah Rigby, Julia Rigby, John Rigby and Nancy Rigby.^[3]
