Biography

Sophronia's birth date is variable in the available records. I have arbitrarily chosen a year immediately after her parent's marriage in 1825. This would make her about 16 at her marriage.

NOTE: Sophronia's paternal grandmother is Catherine Saling-315.

1860-1870

I have not been able to find a death record for her first husband, Calvin. While rummaging around on various on-line trees I found this

Sophronia's 2nd Spouse: Enoch /Dickson/
Marriage 1872

While further research proves this information to be mostly erroneous, it did spark alternate avenues of research which provided the information below.

1870 Census

As of 2019, I have not added a profile for Enoch. (He MAY be Dixon-8665) I am still trying to determine if the two children listed here were Calvin's or Enoch's children. (UPDATE: now near certain they are Calvin's children; therefore Saling's) So far the other known children researched have been married and/or are on their own. Sophronia & Enoch are in House #123. Her daughters, Elizabeth & Theodore Peck are in House # 283 and Martha & Edward Fairley are in House #250.

Event Place {Lowell Twp, Cherokee County} Kansas, United States

Update 2021: See the photo. Note the 'Dickson' family located between (red lines) William Saling and Louisa (Saling) Wallace. I now believe that to be Sophronia and her 2nd husband. Another daughter, Vilena, is newly re-married and living nearby in Prescott, Yavapai, Arizona.
