Biography

Herschel was born October 19, 1893 in Tennessee. He was the son of Joseph Rigsby.

He married Hannah Melton on March 6, 1910 in Cannon County, Tennessee. [1]

On June 5, 1917 he registered for the WWI draft in Cannon County, Tennessee. He listed he was born October 19, 1893 in Liberty, Tennessee. Herschel is a self-employed farmer supporting his wife and two children. He is of medium height, stout build with blue eyes and light colored hair. [2]

Herschel married Georgie Ellis on April 11, 1915 in Cannon County, Tennessee.[3]

He passed away July 1, 1977 in Woodbury, Cannon County, Tennessee.[4] Herschel was laid to rest in Center Hill Cemetery, Cannon County, Tennessee, United States. [5]

Research Notes

On the 1940 census he is listed as Bee Rigsby. I'm not sure if his middle name is actually Bee or if the census taker spelled out his middle initial.
