Henry was born in 1837. [1] He was the son of Samuel Riley and Ann Dyson.

On 30 March 1851 Samuel Riley (50) Coal Miner, wife Ann Riley (49) with children Lilla Riley (20), Elizabeth Riley (18), Samuel Riley (15), Sarah Riley (14), Henry Riley (12), Martha Riley (10), Ann Riley (6) and niece Eliza Dyson (18) lived in Lindley cum Quarmby, Yorkshire, England. [2]

Henry Riley married Martha Beever on 10 June 1872 at St Mary's Church, Woodkirk, Yorkshire, England by Banns.[3]

Henry Riley, coal miner aged 44, wife Martha Riley (40) with children Annie (12), Aaron (10), Mary (8), Sarah (5) and Ethel Riley (3) departed London, England on board the vessel Arawa and arrived in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia on 22 November 1886. [4]

In 1903 Henry Riley (Labourer), Martha Riley (Home Duties), Aaron Riley (Labourer), Mary Riley (Home Duties) and Sarah Riley (Home Duties) lived at 86 Ferguson St, Williamstown North, Victoria. [5]

He passed away in 1906, aged 69. [6]
