1850 Census. Susanah was living with her spouse, Eliha C., and seven of their children along with Mary D. Ritch, who was 80 at the time. They were living in Caldwell County, Caldwell, Kentucky. Eliha was 50 and Susanah was 42. This Census shows that he was born in South Carolina and she was born in Kentucky along with all of their children.[2]
Note: Mary D. Ritch is Elihu's mother. After John Duncan died, his wife Mary (maiden name unknown) married Obadiah Ritch on 23 Sep 1844. [3]
1860 Census. Susanah was living with her spouse, Eliha C., and four of their children. Note: Mary D. Retch, who was 80 in the 1850 Census is no longer living with them and probably deceased. They were living in Lyon Kentucky. Eliha was 50 and Susanah was 42. This Census shows that he was born in South Carolina and she was born in Kentucky along with all of their children.[4]
