Biography

Initial information provided from a written history provided by Joe and Vera Rinehart in 1980. On their history they speculated that it is possible George Rinehart was born in Holland. "...George spoke fluent German and at least part of his children understood and spoke the language." "(The US Census reports show that George Washington Rinehart was born in Ohio and his mother was born in Pennsylvania. Joe and Vera Rinehart probably did not have access to that information when they wrote their history. Since oral family history indicated that George's daughter Caroline spoke German, the family must have lived in a German speaking community.Patton-2407 13:49, 24 August 2015 (EDT))" On the 1850 Census a 19 year old George W Rinehart is living with his widowed 41 year old mother Catharine and 11 other siblings: Reuben 22, Michael 20, Phillip 16, Catharine 14,Cyrus 13,Valentine 12, Solomon 11, Martha 9,Rebecca 8, Jacob 6 and Simon P 4, in Bucks, Tuscarawas, Ohio.[1] On the 1860 Census a 29 year old Geo W Rinehart is living with his 24 year old wife Isabel (the name of George Washington Rinehart's first wife), in Bucks, Tuscarawas, Ohio.
