  • 5 Sept 1805 • Greene County , PA (formed 1796) Isaiah Strewn and John T. Rinehart were granted Letters of Administration for the Deed of Gift or will of Mary Reinhart, widow, "no executors being named." She is the grandmother of John Thomas Rinehart and his sister Susannah. Thomas had left Anna Maria a life estate in their home so she couldn't leave real property. Therfore she left household goods and cash by "deed of gift”.
  • December 1805 Isaiah Strawn and John T. Rinehart draw up papers with their wives to split the property. Recorded on 28, June 1808 when the wives were interviewed separately from their husbands. John T. Rinehart had married Susanna Strawn and Susanna Rinehart had married Isaiah Strawn.

This is the widow of Thomas Reinhart who died in 1793. She names the same sons of Thomas Reinhart - Thomas and Barnet. John T. and Susanna Reinhart were the grandchildren named in Thomas' 1793 will. Thomas called her Ann Marie in his will, but she may have been called Mary familiarly. James Eagon was a witness to both Thomas and Mary’s wills., This is not definite proof but does imply she may have been an Eagon. James Eagon also had a son Barnet.

Wife's Maiden Name in Dispute

Evidence or proof that his wife, Anna Marie's maiden name was O'Neil is needed.

  • Previously a history book was read that had a man named O'Neil with a daughter named Mary, but no connection has been found that she was a wife of Thomas Reinhart.
  • Even though Anna's maiden name is unverified, PMs believe that there is value to including 'possible' maiden names in the Other Last Names field, ie. O'Neil and Eagon.

Research notes

Checked church records of Endersbach from 1715 to 1729. A Johannes Reinhart and Catharina Bopf had a son Johann Thomas, christened on 05 Apr 1728. [7] He would probably be too young to migrate in 1840 to America. More sources needed. He may not have been a baby when christened, which would explain the discrepancy.

1820 census John T Rinehart and Isaiah Strawn are neighbors.

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:

Rinehart-636 and Rinehart-842 appear to represent the same person because: Appears to be duplicate.

I agree that Rinehart-842 has the better profile, but unfortunately the merge is supposed to go into the lower number profile. How about if we first copy the info from 842 into 636, and then complete the merge once 636 is satisfactory? That way the information won't get inadvertently lost in the merge process.

Rinehart-636 and Rinehart-842 are not ready to be merged because: The entry for Rinehart-842 is more complete than the one for Rinehart-636. I just wanted to be sure that the additional information in 842 was not lost in the merge.

They could not have been married in green county in 1745 because green county was not yet formed. there is no evidence her name was O’Neill. Sources needed.
