Biography

Carlyle was born in 1917. He was the son of Robert Walter Ring. He passed away in 2006.

Carlyle enlisted from the National Guard into the US Army on (DATE NEEDED). Stationed in FT George G Meade Maryland. Army Serial#: 06888131. He was attached to the 4th Infantry Division in France and Belgium. In 1945, he received the Silver Star medal by his general for "conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 4th Infantry Division during World War II."
