Note: Scott Co. records show Anton J. Ring died April 11, 1923. Hine Pond, in his diary, mentions attending the funeral of "Tony Ring" on April 15, accompanied by Wilson. His will was filed October 30, 1925.
Scott Co. records show a son, Richard J. Ring, born in New Market, Scott Co., May 4, 1908, to Anton J. Ring, age 39, and Emma Edel, age 27. According to the social security death index, Richard J. Ring died in August, 1967 (place of residence not listed).
A daughter, Matilda, age 9, is listed with the family in the 1910 census. There it is stated that Florence had borne two children, both of whom were still living. Matilda is not listed with the family in 1920.
Anton Ring's parents were born in Germany.
In the 1900 census, Anton Ring's occupation is listed as carpenter, employed for 7 months of the previous 12. In 1910 he is a carpenter working at a foundry and was employed 12 months the previous year. In 1920 he is a pattern maker for a stove foundry. The newspaper item announcing their marriage in 1893 mentions a gift of a set of silverware presented by the Minnesota Stove Works fishing club.
The Rings owned their home. It had a mortgage in 1900 but not in 1910 or 1920. Anton Ring sold a lot in Shakopee for $90, January 2, 1893.
