Biography

Elizabeth Ringer was born circa 1819, daughter of Deacon Jacob and Mary (Giffin) Ringer[1] [2] [3]

She married her first cousin, Matthew Hayden, son of Zebah and Catherine (Ringer) Hayden[1] [2] [3]. Children included:

  1. Augusta, born 1852, who married Benjamin Hayden[1] [3]
  2. Mary, who married Capt Robert Stephenson and lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts [3]
  3. Harriet, born 1857, who married Edward Burns Allen of Allendalen[1] [3]
  4. Eunice, born 1860[4], who married Noah Stannage Dorey[5] [1] [3]
  5. Jacob, who drowned [3]
  6. Frederick [3]
  7. Howard, born about 1865, a sea captain who married Sarah M Cochran[6], and who died in Somerville, Mass[7]

Elizabeth (Ringer) Hayden died February 16, 1908, and was buried in the Osborne Cemetery next to her husband Matthew. Her gravestone reads, "Elizabeth, his wife, died February 16, 1908, aged 89 years"[1] [8]
