Email from Finbar O Mahoney: In considering the names Rinn and Sheils it is important to remember that in 1820 it is likely that at least one of the partners spoke Irish (Gaeilge).

The name Rinn in particular is found as Ryan (O Riann), Ring, and in West Cork and Kerry (Killarney in particular) it is render as Wren.

Ryan is more typical in North Cork, Tipperary and East Limerick). The following are example of the only records found on a limited database but are for illustration only.
