Alta was a very good cook and an accomplishes baker. I remember as a child being in her home with my family and eating dinners around her dining table. Her home was small but she make it comfortable for those who visited. Alta taught cake decorating classes to many ladies in our community.
Alta played the piano for the congregation at the First Baptist Church in Aledo, IL.
She and Uncle Berne had a small dog in their home, possible a pug, that lived to be an old age.
Berne and Alta had one son, Terry, who was probably born near 1945-1950. He was married and had children. He lived in another state. I remember Alta expressing her love for the grandchildren.
Alta had a sister, Mrs. Lloyd, who looked very much like Alta. Mrs. Lloyd attended the Antioch Baptist church (Marston) west of Hamlet Perryton Presbyterian Church, North of Aledo. I remember talking with her when my children attended Bible school there (we attended Hamlet Perryton Presbyterian church and we went together with Antioch Baptist for Bible school).
