Nettie James
Funeral services have been held in Iowa for Mrs. Nettie James, 86, who died at her Carmel home on July 4 after a period of failing health. Initial arrangements were by a Salinas mortuary which did not make a Peninsula notification of the death at the time.
A native of St. Joseph, Mo., she had been a Monterey County resident since 1942. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Salinas chapter.
Mrs. James is survived by three sons, Curtis of West Liberty, Iowa, Gad of Salinas and Marion of Rialto; three daughters, Mrs. L.R. Carson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Mrs. William McIntyre of Salinas and Mrs. Joseph Catherwood of Carmel; a brother, Clayton Ripley of Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Misel and Mrs. Ruby Flannigan, both of Washington, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in West Liberty, Iowa.
Burial is at West Liberty Cemetery, Iowa.
